Function	Licensing and Compliance is responsible for the provision of Domestic Animal Services, including the operation of the Domestic Animals Shelter, City Ranger Services, administration of the licensing provisions of the Nature Conservation Act 1980, Fisheries Act 2000 and associated quarantine provisions. Licensing and Compliance is also responsible for investigations into potential breaches of ACT legislation administered by the Directorate of Transport Canberra and City Services. Biosecurity compliance policy and investigations together with animal welfare policy are coordinated within the unit.
