| Function | Parks and City Services manages all the urban open space in Canberra including the refurbishment and revitalisation of the commercial centres. Urban open space includes town district and neighbourhood parks, semi-natural open space, pedestrian parkland, laneways, road verges and medians and paved areas such as suburban shopping centres and Civic.
Playgrounds are inspected on a regular basis. Repairs and maintenance work is carried out to maintain the playgrounds in a safe working order. All malfunctions should be reported.
